Common questions
How do I add an app?
Tap +, then paste the app's HTTPS link or scan its QR code. Tinkershelf shows you the exact address before adding it. Only HTTPS addresses are accepted.
An app asks me to approve a connection. What does that do?
It lets that app recognize this phone, so you don't have to sign in each time. You approve it once per app. The app receives your device's public credential, never its private key. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I sign in on my computer?
On the app's desktop sign-in page, scan the QR code with +. Check that the six-digit code on your phone matches the one on your screen, then approve. If the codes don't match, deny the request.
How do I move my library to a new phone?
On the old phone, use Transfer library to export a file, then import it on the new phone. Your apps come across, but connections don't: each phone has its own device key, so you approve each app once more on the new phone.
A catalog stopped updating.
If a refresh fails, Tinkershelf keeps the apps it already had. Check that the catalog's address still works in a browser, then refresh it again.
How do I remove an app or delete my data?
Long-press an app to remove it. Uninstalling Tinkershelf deletes all of its data from your phone. Namana Labs stores none of your data, so there is no account to close.
